A Glimpse of Versailles

I was dreaming to visit Chateau Versailles for so long, and finally i go there on May.  Here i share a glimpse of Versailles, a palace with classic french style that mesmerize in every detail.  A celebration of design and a place you must visit at least once in a lifetime.

How to get there

I start the trip from Champs de mars metro station and from there you can buy RER train ticket to Versailles.  It is located outside Paris and it took about 1 hour to get there. When you arrive, you will still have to walk about 15 minutes, just follow the sign and finally you will see the gold fence.  The queue to buy ticket is quite long so manage your time and go early in the morning.  I only spend half day there and i’m rushing to see everything.  There are 3 section that i visit :

The Palace

This palace is huge.  When i finally get inside  all i have ever imagine about this place is even more magical. Walking from room to room i admire all the detail.  The handle of the door, carpets, fabrics, carving, stairs, everything  is magnificent. And the most beautiful is the ceiling. The famous Hall of Mirror is absolutely breathaking. Just keep your head looking up, and down and around, can’t miss all the details.  It’s a bit confusing where to go next so just ask the employee.

The Garden

After done with all the room, visit the garden.  Make sure you purchase ticket include the garden before.  To walk on the real french garden is absolutely a wonderful feeling.  Amazed to see that symetri, well shaped plants, fountains, and statues .  The garden is really really big and i’m so exhausted.  It’s even bigger than the palace. There are train that can take you from the palace to the garden. Walk along the fountain and then turn right to go to Mary Antoinette house.

Petit Trianon

This is Marie Antoinette home.  It’s like a little chateau with feminin touch and lighter french design.   The bedroom is so pretty with soft green fabric and ruffles.  Also a nice rustic french kitchen. I’m chaneling my own Mary Antoinette here.

Took so many pictures but frustrated to get proper pictures. There are too many people and also a bit hard to enjoy everything while rushing and queuing all the time at the palace. These pictures can’t represent the palace and that’s why you gotta see it yourself.

Ticket :

18 Euro

25 Euro (include the garden)

There are Angelina cafe, Laduree, restaurant and souvenir shop.
