Osaka is so much fun to explore, and had a unique vibe for known of their light scene and food heaven that attract hip crowded. But i also see the other side, i stay in a quiet place where the street almost empty, calm and peaceful. So it’s kind a mix together in harmoni, you just get everything. We also explore the japanese culture, food and the people. I love seeing the girls, they wear long coat, winter scarf tied at the neck, with tight and boots, so stylish and classic.
Being a tourist, we go to the famous Dotombori. The feeling is like racing on your foot and your heart at the same time. Find the giant crab statue and stay there, see, feel, smell everything and you`ll be amaze. Don`t forget to try the crab, 700y get 2 big chunks. They are juicy and sweet, and sell very fast. Sit at starbucks in front of it is also fun for people watching.
The best time to take picture is at night but you can arrive before sunset and enjoy the scenery. You have to queueu to take picture here, well it’s The best spot and you can`t miss it. Another thing to get the best time with your friends, save one day to Osaka Universal Studio, no matter your age, you will love it.
When you want to go shopping, enter Shinsaibashi not far from Dotombori, i shop at GU, they have clothes that represent the Osaka fashion vibe with affordable price, slightly below Uniqlo. Also buy some masks at kokumin, they sell many kind of beauty stuff.
We also be kawaii girls, rent kimonos and take selfie, dreaming of becoming real japanese. When you visit Japan during christmast and new year, make sure to check out illuminations. It ussualy held on December-February.
Visiting Osaka castle is a must, not only because of the history but you will enjoy the walk. The surrounding is very beautiful with ginko tree lining onthe street, a river on the side. So peaceful and calm. Imagine when you go here when sakura blooms. Many japanese jogg around. The castle is beautiful with yellow leaf cover it. Buy the souvenir there, you won`t regret it, the price isn`t expensive and they have nice selection.
For the fan of pocky, while you visiting Osaka tower, you can buy pocky there with so many variety. Many restaurants with big and vibrant restaurant neon sign everywhere. Trying food here is much more convenient than in Dotomburi.
While you are travelling around, stop by at Osaka station. I learn that big stations in Japan is connected to a mall so it`s very easy to go shopping from station. There is Lucua mall, and i spot Laduree souvenir and nice selection of hats. We have lunch downstair and amaze with the Food stuff they sell, so cute. Japan famous for their depachika/food hall at basement. Check it out when you visit any departement store.
I ended my Osaka trip at Shin Osaka, to continue my journey. Before i go to Japan, i was planning to use JR pass that i`ve already bought from Indonesia and exchange it at the day i want to use it here. One last thing i did was buying bento box at Shin Osaka station to eat on shinkansen. And it’s really delicious.
